Nurture Your Soul with Color — Ghadeer Al-Zamil
Nature Wears Color
If we look closely at nature, we find all its colors existing in perfect harmony with one another — the warm brown desert sands beneath a blue sky and white clouds, the green forest alongside brown tree branches and grey rocks, and sea creatures like red coral and orange-and-white fish. Every color exists in nature, especially the most vivid ones. So why not let nature be our source of inspiration?
We've grown accustomed to neutral colors in our clothes and abayas. Neutral tones are beautiful — but when they become everyone's only choice, we start to look like copies of each other, without identity. The sense of belonging to our community is natural, because we are part of it — but we can find a balance between fitting in and making ourselves happy through personal choice.
Where Lon Began
My name is Ghadeer, from Riyadh, with roots in Diriyah. Growing up, I had a love for art and drawing, and as I got older I found my passion in graphic design. I love reading, writing, and playing PlayStation.
My journey with color started in university — I used to love buying clothes in every color I could find. Every couple of months I'd go looking for whatever shades I didn't have yet. Toward my final years of university, I noticed abaya colors becoming a real trend, and that's when my colorful wardrobe really started to grow.
I started Lon because I have a deep passion for color, and I wanted to share with people how much color can make you feel. Since I had a background in design and writing, I asked myself: "Why not start a magazine?"
